Microsoft Launches Windows 11 SE

Microsoft has launched Windows 11 SE, a new edition of Windows 11, which is purpose-built to support the K-8 classroom. Well, the SE edition of Windows 11 was designed and built during the covid-19 outbreak to address the difficulty that schools, educators are facing in the blended learning world. 

Alongside, Microsoft also announced an ecosystem of Windows 11 SE devices. These include the new Surface Laptop SE, as well as devices coming from Dell, JP-IK, Lenovo, Dynabook, Fujitsu, Acer, ASUS, HP, and Positivo-powered by AMD and Intel.

The majority of the new devices will be available for ordering via education channels later this year.

"This expanded portfolio complements our current Windows 11 devices for learning, providing even more choices for schools to have the tools, insights and controls they need to deliver optimal learning experiences, at a price that broadens access to Microsoft performance, security and reliability." said Microsoft.


Tech giant, Microsoft said that Windows 11 SE has been optimized for the most used training experiences, including Microsoft 365 applications. The Office apps like Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, and OneDrive will be available for use offline on Windows 11 SE devices as part of a Microsoft 365 license. 

According to Microsoft Surface Laptop SE has been built to bring Windows 11 SE to life and is the most affordable Surface PC ever at just $249. The laptop features an 11.6" screen, front-facing 720p HD camera and stereo speakers; and comes with up to 16 hours of battery life.
